Please read this entirely and avoid living here!
I made the mistake to ignore the numerous red flags.

TOURING THE PROPERTY: Erica (assistant property manager) was on her phone the entire time, not telling us about the amenities, the units, or even making conversation. I requested to see an available unit (the one i had applied to) and she had no idea what I was talking about. I then asked if I can transfer my existing application to one of the units I toured and she said “yes, just email us and we’ll transfer it over”.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS: I emailed requesting to transfer my application over to the unit I toured and no response. IT TOOK FOUR ENTIRE WEEKS OF CONSTANT CALLING TO GET MY APPLICATION COMPLETED! and the management team at Santa Fe didn’t even do it; the manager for San Vicente Towers in Santa Monica stepped in and completed my application.

MOVE IN DAY: I was shown to my apartment — facing Los Angeles St, and a very large piece of old marble sticking up from the floor that I have tripped over numerous times (no wonder why they pretended they didn’t know what I was talking about when I requested to tour my unit - they knew I would have immediately cancelled my application). I asked where my parking spot was and the assistant manager looked at me and said “what do you mean — for the u-haul”, i said “no, for me to park my car everyday”. She then told me that you don’t get parking, but can send them an email to be placed on the waiting list and could park across the street. THIS LADY HAD THE AUDACITY TO TELL ME “WELL, YOU DIDN’T ASK” when I was visibly upset about the fact that I was not made aware of that vital detail/cost during my tour.

MANAGEMENT: NEVER IN THE OFFICE OR ANYWHERE TO BE FOUND! I emailed to be placed on the waiting list, I was told there were 35 people ahead of me, fast forward a few months and I see plenty of people moving out, I ask Bria (the property manager) where my place is on the list and magically there are now 40 something people in front of me instead of 35.

Lastly, THE ELEVATOR IS ALWAYS BROKEN! Within the last month, the elevators have broken down about 10 times, which is clearly an ADA violation and will 100% be calling the city since management does not seem to care. There are much more issues but this review will end up being a book if I list them all. Bottom line: DO NOT MOVE HERE! I can’t wait to leave in July.

I have to say Juan made the tour ! His professional engaging personality is amazing !! I was shown 4 spaces all very beautifully designed. I’m still trying to decide if I’d be willing to give up my West LA familiarity to be in downtown. I believe the Santa Fe Lofts have something very special to offer. I hope to be a resident in the near future.
Thank you
Ivy

Applied over two weeks ago and was in constant contact with Brandon regarding my application. First, he calculated my income wrong and said I needed a guarantor to continue. When I explained to him how to do basic math, he apologized because I was actually over $700 overqualified. I was completely ghosted after my background/credit check came back. The unit I applied for was re-posted on the site and marked available, at a lower price. I’ve sent him multiple emails, called over 10x a day, all with no answer. I’m still waiting for my holding deposit to be sent my way. Don’t apply here.

UPDATE as of 8/29: They only replied back to my emails because of this review. I was told they legally have 21 days to return my deposit. It is day 29 and I have yet to receive a check. The community manager, Bria, has also stopped replying to my emails and cannot be reached by phone - A joke of a company.

I Applied over a week ago and was in contact with Brandon Washington regarding my application. I emailed them saying that I had a Family emergency and that I had to withdraw my application. This was only three days after I applied. They emailed me back saying that I will be receiving my holding deposit back since I let them know within 72 hours Of applying. Which I wasn’t informed that my holding deposit wouldn’t be returned, If I didn’t let them know before 72 hours. I have been reaching out for about a week now and now I have been ghosted. I’ve sent him multiple emails, called over 10x a day, all with no answer. I’m still waiting for my holding deposit to be sent my way. I should have looked at the reviews - I guess they do this often. So disappointing…Don’t apply here!!!!!!

I moved in a year ago after touring several other Lofts in the DTLA area, this building had the best floorplan and views that I wanted, but the management was terrible and there was plenty turnover in my first year here because of it. Now we have a completely new property management group, and I am so thankful for them in the short time they’ve been here, a lot of things have changed and improved. They got us 24 hour armed security, we have a better packaging system, quicker maintenance response, they fixed the broken door for the entrance of one of the buildings, and so much more that they have planned. I think it makes a difference that the property manager Delisse and the assistant property manager Michael both take pride in their work as it’s something they are also invested in. I think beforehand we had people that just came into the building and worked a job, but didn’t care that this, for a lot of us, is our home & workplace . I feel much better about my decision to stay in my unit after they got on board and I’m so grateful for them both .

As others have stated, they do not answer the phone at all. This issues has clearly lasted for years now, I'm sure they'll reply with an excuse. The application process is not bad at first then they randomly stop responding. Of course the holding deposit is non refundable. My application was cancelled and I was told to apply again for another $140+. That makes absolutely zero sense!!! The price changes daily as well so be mindful if you decide to apply.

Called the next day mind you this is all during the weekday . Some one answered and I asked when they were open and got hung up on by some guy answering the phone. Would not recommend moving here

Firstly I sent an email weeks ago with maintenance issues and never got a response. I luckily was able to get a hold of Ray personally and he took initiative and handled the situation though the person scheduled to do other repairs the following day didn't show up until another day later.
Ray, five stars, everyone else zero.
