Wunderschöer Park. Empfehlenswert. Ausergewöhlich für uns, da der Park mit dem Auto befahrbar ist und nicht wirklich autofrei ist.

We stopped in the park to use the restroom after dropping off a family member at Newark airport. Well what a nice surprise, first as we drove into the park is the Sacred Heart Basilica church, it’s absolutely stunning! Then we get to the restroom area and I was so impressed by how clean the bathroom was. Never have I experienced such a clean room in all my travels, especially a public restroom!! Kudos to the workers there!! Highly recommended it and what a beautiful place to visit too!

We visited the Branch Brook park for the cherry blossoms and walked from one end of the park to the other end in about 3 hours. What a gorgeous park!!
Cherry blossoms: If your main focus is the cherry blossom trees, the best areas to visit are around the cherry blossom welcome center and the south loop around the large lake. There are so many types of cherry blossoms - different colors, a variety of sizes and plenty of photography options. We visited on a weekend and even though the park was crowded, we had several opportunities to find quiet places and enjoy the blossoms. Do visit the welcome center for some history on the cherry blossom trees.
The rest of the park is equally beautiful with lush green fields, large lakes and playing areas. We found a pretty river near the welcome center as well. There are food trucks selling hot dogs and ice creams around the park.
Parking seemed to be available at many different points but was pretty full owing to the weekend crowd. We took the light rail that had several stops along the park and offered some really great views along the way. Happy spring time!

Newark gets a lot of attention for being one of the least green cities. Branch Brook Park is one of the few gems we have access to. It's a really nice park and pretty big. There are lots of baseball and football fields. There are several rest rooms through the park and my favorite time is always when the Cherry Blossoms are blossoming. The park, at least the part I walk around, is always clean and well maintained.

Awesome collection of cherry blossom species! One of the best in the US. Its a great feeling to spend few hours here at the end of the long winter :).

One of the best park around the area, especially for cherry blossom for locals. This park has featured multiple play area, easily accessible, trails around the park, small water body along the park. Only issue i could see is the parking. We went to this park on last week of march 2024, that was little bit early, but i can sense the beauty of this park at full bloom. Don't miss this when you are near this park during the season.
