Hier bekommt man einen sehr schönen Eindruck weshalb die Gegend so öde und heiß ist.
Die Kapazität des Parkplatzes an der Straße ist schnell erschöpft.
Ein Halt lohnt aber in jedem Fall.
Kann man hier doch sehr gut den Salzsee überblicken und zu Fuß den Kilometer bis dorthin gehen.
Aber Achtung: die Salzkruste ist z. T. brüchig und dünn, Wasser steht unmittelbar unter der Oberfläche. Daher werden Schuhe/Füße salzig und nass.
Man darf sogar in den See gehen.
Sehr heiß (45 - 50 Grad), kein Sonnenschutz.

Amazing place! If you are in Death Valley you have to stop here and take in the amazing sights! We were able to see it when there was a temporary lake. Lake or dry it is well worth it!

This was probably one of the highlights of our Death Valley tour, being at 200+ feet below sea level. You get to really see why they call the Death Valley, Death Valley. Enormous salt plains with an endless view of the valley meeting the horizon, especially during sun set, is simply gorgeous.

Don't come in the day; make sure you check for sunset timing and reach the carpark before that. After that, try to also stay for the night skies, as the stars will be out and stargazing takes over (assuming fair weather conditions). The thing with nature is, once you miss it, you miss it; but it's also unpredictable.

We came here with iTravel USA LLC, and Mama Lankun was an amazing tour guide for what we needed for the day.

Well this is a must when you visit Death Valley and you long for it...because of the recent rain, water was getting as far as the dock which is unusual. Plus in February, temperature was perfect, a nice 20 degrees. We were lucky until a bus FULL of impolite tourists stop right behind us and that's it...the moment was ruined...you are left with an hoard of noisy and aggressive folks running to take their selfies and other zillions stupid pictures of them doing nothing else but taking the "tik tok pause" for social medias...

We left before strangling one of those...I am always amazed by folks who have no self-awareness wrt their behavior...so loud and intrusive. Everyone has the right to stop here off course but can we be civilized and respectful with each other?

So stop there and enjoy this fabulous place but make sure there is no bus following you and if so, stop somewhere else and wait for them to leave!

Badwater Basin in Death Valley showcases nature's extremes with its surreal landscape. Living in Las Vegas my whole life (46 years), this was my first time ever coming to Death Valley. What a rad experience being able to paddle board on a lake is the driest place in north and South America. Definitely recommend the drive to experience it before it dries up.

Stunning natural feature, the dry lake salt flats. You can walk a short distance to get to the white salt flats for a photo, but it’s better if you walk further to get the real sense of how large the lake bed is. Best to visit in the spring when it’s not too hot.
